About the WPA posters

Between 1936 and 1943, the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project employed more than 5,000 artists to create over two million posters across 35,000 designs. Roughly 2,000 originals survive, with the largest collection held by the Library of Congress. These striking graphics promoted national parks, public programs, and American culture.
