How Custom Sticker Printing Works: From Upload to Your Doorstep in 5 Days
Share
Twenty years ago, custom sticker printing meant plates, dies, setup fees, and minimums in the thousands. Digital printing killed all of that. Here's what actually happens when you order from a modern sticker printing company.
Step 1: Preflight (the step cheap printers skip)
Your file gets checked by a human: resolution (300 DPI minimum), bleed (0.125" on all sides), color space, and cut line. Most print failures are file failures — our Printing Guide covers how to set up files from Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Procreate.
Step 2: Digital print at 1200 DPI
Digital presses print CMYK directly onto waterproof BOPP film — no plates. That's why a 25-unit run is affordable and a reorder six months later matches perfectly.
Step 3: Contour cutting
A digital cutter follows your shape — circle, oval, or a custom contour around your artwork. Kiss-cut for easy peeling, die-cut for shaped edges.
Step 4: Ship
Orders leave our St. Petersburg, FL facility in 3–5 business days via USPS or UPS with tracking. Need it faster? Call (800) 889-5187 for rush options.
What to look for in a sticker printer
Material honesty (film vs coated paper), human preflight, published turnaround, and no minimum-quantity games. That checklist is the whole reason Carrco exists.
